Here beginith the ships log for the 25 ton SpellJamming
vessel the “Lumenus Conscientia” taken into Captaincy by one Jordan
Silverton from Azon the Wizard this 1st day of the Second Month in the
Year 1373 DR. As the nature of SpellJamming precludes a standard year, for
reference this year is correlated to the following others, if scholars
find the events of this log ever to be of importance enough to come before
a Chronomancer or other Relic Time Keeper. The year 1373 DR is recorded by
others as 341 Northern Reckoning in the Realms, 1348 Cormyr Reckoning, or
year 15 Present Reckoning as the Realms record it. It is the Common Year
576 in Grey Space. It falls in the year 2623 in the Great Shou Lung
Calendar and is marked as 364 Alt Cataclius to those of KrynnSpace. OOC: This is the ship’s record. The Captain of the ship my post here whenever he or she feels like it. Other characters should preclude any posts here with a post in the main turn referring to going to the bridge and writing in the Ships log. It is a large, leather bound book with many sheets of parchment in it. |

[Day 1, Second Month, 1373] Captains
Log Entry The supplies for the ship, have been loaded and we are ready to set sail, Azon came to see us off, seems like we have a good crew, I'm a bit anxious about our first encounter with some unfriendly, not sure how the crew will hold up. Had Zond run them through some drills hopeful that will help. We are headed to Garden the journey should take 12 days. |

[Ship Schedule] Zond Ebonblade Log entry: First Officer: Zond Ebonblade in the service of the Purple Dragon Azoun IV on extended duty. The Captain has asked for a crew schedule. A copy of this will be posted in the gangway below decks for the crew to see, it will also be read to them prior to being posted. First Shift 7-3 First Shift Commander - Roku/Zond* First Shift Helmsman - Jordan 1 Crewman 2 Crewman 3 Crewman Second Shift 3-11 Second Shift Commander - Dawn Second Shift Helmsman - Howk 4 Crewman 5 Crewman 6 Crewman Third Shift 11-7 Third shift Commander - Zond Third Shift Helmsman - Pheanix 7 Crewman 8 Crewman 9 Crewman *Although Jordan will be active on first shift we will likely be unable to make a helmsman change during an attack or emergency. In that case Zond will take over for Roku so that he can tend any wounded without worrying about directing any space combat. Drill Post Emergency Procedures/Crew schedule:(Drills) General Quarters: Called when spotting another vessel in proximity to ours outside of a docking facility. All hands on deck in their assigned jobs. If the captain is at the helm or any other person unable to perform their duties the order of command falls to the next person in line. The Helmsman on duty is considered to be out of the loop as he/she is busy with the ship. Per the captains request all officers should render advice and assistance as needed. This is especially the case if the captain is not in command of the vessel due to incapacitation or if he is manning the helm. It is doubly important to get the officers to work the ropes as well as the main crew. I will discuss with them as soon as possible. |

[3rd Day, 2nd Mth, Yr 1373 ] We have dropped the ship out of spelljamming speed, to perform a test. Dawn has agreed to demonstrate her ability to make the ship jump a distance away. The test did not go well, Dawn effort didn’t not yield the desired result. Some of the crew voiced dissatisfaction in the effort. I reprimanded them for this. Will need to reschedule and try the demonstration another day. I believe that Dawn talent is a great asset to this ship and we will yet thank the day that she signed up for this voyage. [6th Day, 2nd Mth, Yr 1373 ] It's been 3 days since our attack by the scavvers, several of the crew was injured as well as a few officers. Roku healing powers now have the crew back to full health. We also have taken on a new crew member Serenna Starmantle. She fell out of one of the scavvers belly, seems good with a sword and is capable of spell casting. Will need to see about hiring a few more crew members when we reach garden, that one attack nearly crippled the functioning of the ship, many had to pull double duty, while the injured were restored back to health. |
